GREEN MEADOW INDEPENDENT
PRIMARY SCHOOL

Our Lowton nursery is on the site of our own Independent School (Green Meadow Independent Primary School). Children from both our nurseries have priority to places available at the school. We also enroll children from our nurseries into the Kindergarten class which filters into our independent school.

Green Meadow Independent School was built in 2009 by Mr. & Mrs. Green, who, having three children of their own saw a need for an affordable, high quality and local education establishment. Green Meadow is an extended school and offers a range of services such as a breakfast, after-school and holiday club, which helps meet the needs of children, young people and their families and the wider community. We are a school that encourages pupils to learn together in an environment of strong family values with emphasis on inclusion for all. Green Meadow’s aim is to help children thrive and give each individual child the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Green Meadow Independent School is built over two floors with access via stairs or lift. The school comprises of seven classrooms all with an interactive white board and computers within the room, we also have a Library, ICT suite, dining/sports hall, and two undercover sports play areas and one large adventure play area. We also have a sensory garden with a small planting area which also incorporates an outdoor fish aquarium for the pupils to take care of. We have access to open fields for physical education, sporting activities and sports day. All pupils’ access swimming lessons at one of the local pools and are taught by a fully qualified instructor.

Green Meadow Independent School is by design not a large school therefore we are able to provide for your child’s individual needs. We like to think of our school as being a friendly and happy place, buzzing with activity and positive energy. Staff continuously support children ensuring a smooth transition from Kindergarten/ nursery to our reception class and will strive to provide an atmosphere which is supportive and purposeful. Although the school is non-selective, an entrance assessment may be required to determine a child’s educational needs.

Green Meadow Independent School welcomes children from the age of three to eleven years. With a small, happy and friendly atmosphere, the school aims to inspire its pupils both morally and academically. We offer an affordable option in independent education. Small class sizes of no more than 24 pupils and dedicated specialist teachers who ensure that the needs of all pupils are met, from high achievers to those experiencing difficulties such as dyslexia.

Each child is nurtured to build confidence and a love of learning, helping them reach their full potential and prepare them for their future. The curriculum is exciting and varied, with traditional teaching of core subjects such as English, Mathematics and science successfully combined with a modern approach to other subjects. Adjacent to the school and occupying the same site is First Steps Nursery which is also owned by Mr and Mrs Green.

The Kindergarten is based at the nursery site and linked to the school through an undercover play area which is shared with the Reception Class. The Kindergarten’s intake is 24 children per year and all children are required to wear the Green Meadow uniform and adhere to its registration rules.
